NAMASTE!!! Hullo there, you people of the USA.
WE, my papi, rachel and myself,
have experienced many many many things in the last few days.
FIRST OFF, the
grueling trip to Nepal: from the very first moment we were being held back by
the system!
Our flight got delayed in Denver and pretty much ruined the rest of
the schedule.
Then the padre convinced them that we "really" needed to go, so
they set up a flight through London, Qatar, and then NEPAL,
so this trip of
predictable-ness suddenly became laden with trials still unknown...
When we
reached London after a 7-8 hour flight full of reading stupid books and watching
the WORST made movie of all time,
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief (really
fantastically cliche and also slightly bad acting), we had an hour of downtime
so
I ordered a margarita pizza, that ended up being some tomato paste and cheeze
on top of cardboard (just kidding it was bread).
Then came the SUPER nice Qatar
flight, we were still in the "I'm poor" class but we received not one but two
meals and there
were over fifty movies on their entertainment system (may I take
a moment to recommend Paa- ens)!!, AND they had fluffier blankets.
AFter 6
hours we landed in Qatar (bet you haven't been there :) and took a fifteen
minute taxi bus from the tarmac to the airport where we then waited at the Nepal
gate for 30 minutes.
My dad then chatted with what you would have thought were
his long lost besty best friends who were also going to Nepal while we got
bumbed up to 1st class, because we look so respectable and nice, still flying
Qatar (might I take a moment to say how very nice Qatar is...) and then we
boarded the plane.
DUHDuhDUUUHHH, such beauty and good service has yet to exist
on another plane, (just kidding I can't really say, seeing as my experience is
limited....)
we were served freshly squeezed orange juice, thats right freshly
squeezed!!, and were given seats with LOTS of leg room.
They let us order our
very own meals!! and gave us appetizers!! (I know there are a lot of exclamation
marks, but I must show my enthusiasm).
After a very nice 4-5 hours, we landed
in Kathmandu at 8:30 to a very warm Nepali airport and then exited to a very
awesome fast and the furious taxi ride to our hotel...
This taxi ride has made
me think that amusement park rides are completely unneccessary, and should be
replaced with small compact misuzukis with duct taped seats.
AFTER the most
exciting time of my life, we reached a hotel dropped our stuff, wandered around,
picked up Rachel, and slept hours to hold off the jet lag.
NOW we are headed to
Chaur Jahari by way of Nepalgunj. Dad is "scheduled" to speak at church,
which has grown from 40 to 200 in the last couple of years,
VERY EXCITING!! We
will then visit some old friends and return to Kathmandu, so pray for safe
journeys, good weather, and most of all....great food :)
GOD BLESS!!
